Biography

Meridian Web Solutions is operated by myself, Daniel Schalm, R.TCMP. I've been designing and managing web sites for the last ten years. Interest in this work began at college, in Victoria, during the first of four years training as a Chinese medicine practitioner and acupuncturist. There, I set up and maintained a couple of information sites for both lay people and professionals in the field. During that time, a growing interest in the technical side of HTML, javascript and PHP - combined with the more artistic endeavour of graphic design led me to take on other web projects as well. Presently I operate the Meridianman men's holistic health site ... an extensive web for men's alternative health accessed from all over the world.

As the acupuncture practice grew, and I moved into teaching acupuncture theory and clinical safety, web design work continued to be a passion.

In the past year, my wife, Lelle and I moved from Victoria to Parksville, BC, where we have opened a B&B near Columbia Beach. In the process I have taken a break from my medical practice in order to make web creation my full time occupation. My main business is called Design Menu Web Solutions where I specialize in small business design work and search engine optimisation.
